Secret Skin's Managing Director discusses some the new and emerging trends in the cosmetic injectables industry in 2023.

    1. Personalized treatments: Patients increasingly seek customized treatment plans tailored to their unique facial features and desired outcomes, leading practitioners to adopt a more individualized approach.

    2. Preventative treatments: Many clients are opting for injectables as a preventative measure, particularly younger patients who wish to maintain their youthful appearance and delay the onset of visible aging.

    3. Combination treatments: Combining different types of injectables, such as anti-wrinkle injections with dermal fillers, has become increasingly popular to achieve more comprehensive results and address multiple concerns at once.

    4. Natural-looking results: As the industry matures, there is a growing emphasis on achieving subtle, natural-looking enhancements rather than dramatic transformations.

    5. Male patients: The number of male patients seeking cosmetic injectable treatments has been on the rise, leading to a demand for injectables specifically designed for men's unique facial structures and concerns.

    6. Growth of non-surgical treatments: The popularity of non-surgical treatments, such as injectables, continues to rise due to their minimally invasive nature, shorter recovery times, and more affordable costs compared to surgical procedures.

    7. Focus on safety and education: With the growth of the injectables market, there is an increasing emphasis on patient safety, provider education, and the use of high-quality products from reputable manufacturers.

    8. Telemedicine consultations: As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many practitioners have adopted telemedicine platforms to provide virtual consultations for injectable treatments, allowing patients to discuss their concerns and treatment options remotely.  This has also led the rise of a new phenomenon know as "Zoom Dystopia", where people are noticing changes more easily in their faces from increased time on video calls for work.

    9. Emerging injectables: New products and formulations continue to enter the market, offering patients and practitioners an expanding range of treatment options. For example, new neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and fat dissolving injectables were gaining traction in 2021.

    10. Sustainability: With growing environmental concerns, the industry is increasingly focusing on reducing waste, using eco-friendly packaging, and adopting sustainable practices in the manufacturing and distribution of cosmetic injectables.

These are just some of the new trends as I see them in my daily practice and I am excited to see how the industry evolves in 2024.
